About the role

The Lawyer is the UK’s leading legal news, data and insight publication and is looking to recruit a detail-oriented Research Team Leader to manage the delivery of the research teams’ activities.

The successful candidate will work as part of a team that produces a suite of annual market reports, bespoke thought leadership and customised research projects for clients in the legal sector.

The successful candidate will have an opportunity to work with some of the world’s leading law firms on innovative thought leadership projects and the role would suit an ambitious research analyst with around five years’ experience and a proven research and analysis track record.

Responsibilities

Our research analysts experience multiple aspects of research projects, from designing surveys and analysing survey data to writing reports and interviewing senior-business executives.

The leader of this team is responsible for the timely delivery of the programme of work whilst at the same time providing input into the continued improvement of our product set. Key responsibilities include:

  • Agreeing the timetable for the market reports
  • Managing the programme of delivery to a tight schedule
  • Continually seeking ways to improve the reports we produce
  • Work collaboratively with the editorial team to write sections of the market reports
  • Liaise with clients to help the sales team sell bespoke research
  • Maintaining and improving our best practice approach to delivery
  • Presenting research findings to clients and taking a lead in the writing of bespoke research reports
  • Managing the team and ensure opportunities for career progression

Key skills

  • Around 5 years’ experience in a research or research-related role
  • At least two years in a senior position with responsibility for delivery of a programme of work
  • Proficiency with writing detailed research reports
  • Competent with Microsoft Excel and data gathering
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in written form
  • Ability to spot trends within data
  • Attention to detail and a keen eye for data checking
